Which jet X is right for you?

All four share the same nozzle and body. What changes is the gauge — and whether one can ever be fitted.

adam X is the compact gauge: inlet pressure reading, bar/psi and °C/°F switching, ambient temperature, operating hours, battery level, tap navigation.

adam X pro has all of that on a larger screen, and adds tap and tilt navigation, target pressure setting, multi-gun mode, and a record of operating hours, painting time and trigger pulls that can be sent to the smartphone dashboard.

Worth knowing before you buy: the jet X Basic is the only gun in the range that can never take a gauge — adam X and adam X pro cannot be retrofitted to it. If there is any chance you will want one later, the Digital ready is the one to go for.

I-nozzle or O-nozzle?

Both are available in every fluid tip size, and the fan stays the same size across the range.

“I” nozzle — control

An elongated fan with a small run-off zone and a drier jet core. Film build per coat is slightly lower and application is a little slower than an “O” of the same size — the trade for maximum control.

“O” nozzle — speed

An oval fan with a larger run-off zone and a wetter jet core. Film build per coat is slightly greater than an “I” of the same size, which lets you move faster.

  • Product Description

226 guns, and that is the entire run. To mark 20 years of SATA UK, SATA has released a strictly limited edition of the jet X DIGITAL pro in Union Flag livery, built for the UK market only. Every gun is individually laser-etched with its own production number, so it is as much a collector's piece as a working tool. When the 226 are gone, that is the end of it.

This listing is the 1.3 mm fluid tip, "I" (Control) nozzle, RP air cap.

    What is in the case

The set arrives in a presentation case, not a cardboard box:

    • Union Flag jet X limited edition spray gun
    • SATA adam X pro digital gauge
    • Laser-etched gun stand
    • Certificate of authenticity

    The gun underneath the livery

Special edition or not, this is a full jet X DIGITAL pro. The labyrinth airflow system guides air through the nozzle so that it leaves every orifice at the same pressure, free of turbulence and pulsation. The result is exceptionally fine, even atomisation on both HVLP and RP.

The spray pattern is even, with clearly defined fade-out zones, so the gun tells you what it is doing as you work. SATA offers two jet shapes with constant fan dimensions across every nozzle size: "I" (Control) gives a longer pattern, a drier core and maximum control, and "O" (Speed) gives a wetter core and a higher application speed. This one is the "I".

    adam X pro

The adam X pro mounts straight onto the gun, with no docking station involved.

    • Works in gloves. Double-tap or tilt the gun to move through the display.
    • Live readings. Inlet pressure, operating time, ambient temperature and battery level.
    • Target pressure alarms. Set the inlet pressure you want and the gun tells you when you drift off it.
    • Job records. Operating hours, painting time and trigger count, all logged.
    • Dashboard sync. After a job, scan the on-screen QR code with a phone or PC to pull the performance summary straight into your digital dashboard.

Used properly, that is the difference between remembering roughly what you set last time and repeating it exactly.

    Also worth knowing

    • Quick-change air cap. One and a half turns on the QC thread and the cap is off.
    • Modular range. The jet X comes in four configurations — BASIC, DIGITAL ready, DIGITAL and DIGITAL pro. The DIGITAL ready runs analogue with a QAC hand rest and takes an adam X or adam X pro whenever you want one.
    • 3 year warranty. SATA's standard 1 + 2 year extended cover.
