  The DV1 Basecoat supplied as the gun alone, without the digital gauge — for painters who already have cups and set pressure at the regulator.

  Key features

  • Airflow redesigned from scratch — not carried over from the GTi, and it shows on the difficult work
  • Steady on metallics and pearls — where a lesser gun mottles and goes patchy
  • Even fan edge to edge — fewer passes and less material to reach coverage
  • Light and well balanced — a full day in the booth is less punishing on the wrist
  • Waterborne or solvent — happy with either
  • B and B+ air caps — B for everyday panel work, B+ for a wider fan on full resprays
  • No gauge to charge — the same gun as the digital for less, if the wall regulator is how you work anyway

  Gun only. No cup supplied — order a DV1 cup separately if you need one.

  Choosing your fluid tip and air cap

  As a rule of thumb: 1.1–1.2mm for light metallic colour, 1.3mm as the all-round bodyshop choice, 1.4mm and above for heavier basecoat and sealer. B is the standard basecoat cap; B+ gives a wider fan for larger panels. If you are unsure, ring us — we would rather get it right first time than have you send it back.
